Reserved dialogue
for institutional and business stakeholders
This page is accessible by invitation only.
It is intended for entrepreneurs, senior executives, and institutional leaders who wish to gain a clearer understanding of the L’Oscar Nascosto (The Hidden Oscar) project and of the conditions under which a serious and respectful dialogue can take place.
It is a space for clarity, created for those who are accustomed to evaluating projects with care and a strong sense of responsibility.

The project, in brief
L’Oscar Nascosto (The Hidden Oscar) is a cultural project that tells the previously untold life story of two sisters who, for over 45 years, worked in Italian and international theatrical, cinematic, and television tailoring.

These master artisans contributed to the creation of costumes for films that have shaped the history of cinema and won numerous prestigious international awards, including the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes,
while remaining behind the scenes of these major productions.
Their commitment stands as a concrete example of humility, manual skill, responsibility, and dedication.

The project was created to preserve and bring renewed visibility to this experience through a book, a documentary film, and a traveling exhibition.
Today, L’Oscar Nascosto is developed by an independent cultural association.

The dialogue with the business world stems from the desire to enhance the value of artisanal craftsmanship and Made in Italy: by revealing the people behind the products, the challenges behind every single bead sewn, and the authentic life stories behind every Oscar-winning film.

The project, in greater detail
L’Oscar Nascosto is a cultural project that tells a previously untold life story which has contributed to shaping our visual culture.
At its core are the sisters Celeste and Orfea Frillici, tailors and entrepreneurs who worked for decades in cinematic and television costume making for Italian and international productions, contributing to the creation of costumes for films and productions that have entered history.

Their work had a tangible impact on the creation of characters and images that have become part of the collective imagination, while remaining outside the public narrative.
Their story represents an important element in restoring value to the cultural role of artisanal craftsmanship in the performing arts.
The works and those who made them possible
The project includes memories and behind-the-scenes accounts of major creations and the figures who shaped them: films, productions, theatre and opera, television programmes, as well as showgirls, singers, actresses, and actors who gave a face to images that are still recognised today as part of our cultural heritage. The titles mentioned above speak for themselves.

The stars who are the faces of those major works can today act as witnesses to a collective endeavour, helping to renew the value of those creations and to make visible the artisanal heritage that made them possible—giving voice to the work carried out behind the scenes and further strengthening the cultural significance of their own journeys.
The role of businesses as witnesses to history
Some businesses have shared the same eras and production processes as the works described, contributing materials, expertise, and know-how.

In this context, companies can take part in the project as witnesses to history by making available:
-
high-quality materials or archival resources necessary to the project,
-
expertise or resources required for the development of the research and restitution work.
This participation serves a cultural purpose: to carry forward the memory of the value of what has been produced, recognising its historical and human significance.
Key principles
The project is based on a number of clear principles:
-
Autonomy
The content and the cultural direction remain independent.
-
Time
Research and restitution require timeframes that are consistent with the complexity of the stories.
-
Measure
The project develops progressively, with constant attention to maintaining quality and care.
-
Responsibility
Every decision takes into account the impact on the people involved.

These elements are not operational constraints, but conditions that ensure the project’s solidity.
Making the project possible
Telling this inspiring story requires time, care, and resources.
The collection of materials and the production of the book, the documentary film, and the travelling exhibition are based on concrete and responsible support.
Accompanying L’Oscar Nascosto means contributing to a process of cultural restitution that concerns not only the protagonists of the story, but a broader part of our shared cultural heritage.
